The Role

The Risk and Compliance Officer will play a key role in helping the business deliver quality assurance & Compliance by acting as the authoritative, strategic voice managing the business and it's clients through emerging and existing conduct, product, and industry regulation.

The Risk and Compliance Officer will also be integral to the daily operations of the business; providing advice and guidance on operational and product queries, visiting & auditing existing Appointed Representatives and drafting root cause analysis findings as well as owning the incident management and breach reporting framework.

You will also be instrumental in supporting the Insurance team in delivering Compliant IT solutions to both our clients & internally.

What You’ll Be Doing

Responsibilities also include Permanent Supervision & FCA Monitoring:

  • Update & write internal compliance policies & procedures and take full responsibility for these areas as allocated by the Directors

  • Review and summarise regulatory updates

  • Assist with the annual AR Risk Assessment

  • Carry out quarterly supervision controls/checks with existing AR network

  • Review controls in line with audit actions and update internal systems

  • Assist with FCA regulatory returns

  • Assist with Data Protection and Operational Risk reporting

  • Assist with training sessions for sales teams and wider business in relation to Culture and Conduct, Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) and any other training required to be given by the Directors

  • To help meet the FCA's principle of TCF monitor customer feedback through returned customer surveys. Investigate any negative feedback and collate quarterly reports for the board

What We’re Looking For

  • You need to have a proven track record in successfully achieving objectives, particularly in respect of meeting quality and compliance elements of previous role.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Highly organised and possess strong planning skills

  • Positive and enthusiastic approach

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to use a range of analytical tools to identify and assure the level of quality delivered.

  • Well developed IT skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Previous experience of quality monitoring is a nice to have but it is essential that the successful candidate has experience of working within FCA principles, TCH and businesses regulatory policies and procedures
